Sharing is Caring

Salman Rushdie, who has won several literary writings, was stabbed on stage moments before giving a lecture at the Chautauqua Institution.

Salman was stubbed twice by suspect who was arrested immediately and in now in the police custody.

The reason of stabbing is yet to be concluded but the police are working on the suspect to withdraw the answers.

He was lucky enough he was airlifted to northwestern Pennsylvania where he was given first aid and underwent surgery.

In the ventilator, Rushdie was numb and according to his agent, Andrew Wylie, he is likely going to lose an eye. “The nerves in his arm were severed; and his liver was stabbed and damaged. The news is not good.” Andrew said.

The institution had earlier declined to carry out security measures like checking of bags and use of metal detectors, claiming the measures would change the culture of the institution.

Michael Hill, the president of the institution, claimed that security was observed despite the horrible attach.

“We assess for every event what we think the appropriate security level is, and this one was certainly one that we thought was important which is why we had a State Trooper and Sheriff presence there. We will assess for each of the events at the Institution what we think the appropriate level of security is and that’s an ongoing process that we work in concert with local law enforcement on.” Said the institution president.
