Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver’s marriage is over after more than a decade after she petitioned to end her 25-year marriage to the former California governor. The divorce was finalized by a Los Angeles judge.
The couple had been married since 1986 and Maria Shriver filed for divorce in 2011 following Arnold’s revelations that he had sired a child with a staff member of his household in the 1990s.
This revelation caused media frenzy. However, Arnold and Maria handled their divorce in privacy with exchanging accusations in public or in court. It is not yet known why the divorce process took so long to conclude.
The financial part of the divorce has been kept secret so far so good. This might be because the couple’s four children are all adults hence there is no custody arrangement or child support demands.
The settlement documents indicate that none owes the other any spousal support, however both reserve the right to seek it through the corridors of justice in the future. I was the no.1 fan of Arnold’s movies such as Terminator, Predator, Commando, Total Recall, True Lies, Twins and Collateral Damage among others. I will always watch them again! 🙂
