Moses Wetangula has asked the Azimioa la Umoja One Kenya coalition Presidential candidate Raila Odinga to shake hands with the President elect William Ruto for the sake of peace in the country.

The Ford Kenya Party Leader claimed that the type of handshake that will be made between the two is to ensure peace and not sharing the government.

Wetangula also urged Raila to concede defeat following the presidential results that declared William Ruto as the winner.

“We want to advise our brother that this is not the first time you have not won an election; this is, in fact, the fifth. So, therefore, accept that things happened the way they did and shake hands with us so that we can take our country to the next level,” Wetangula said.

Wetangula was part of NASA coalition that had Raila Odinga as the presidential candidate in the 2017 General Elections.

NASA was defeated by Jubilee lead by Uhuru Keyatta as the presidential candidate. President Uhuru resumed power for the second term after the Jubilee coalition clinched to power in 2013.

Moses Wetangula abandoned Raila Odinga’s presidential bid and supported the then Deputy President William Ruto. Ruto running on Kenya Kwanza ticket defeated Raila Odinga.

Wetangula is now the senator of Bungoma county following the recent general elections. He also gave his views in the what Raila has done in Kenyan Politics.

“We will accord him the respect he deserves as a man who has walked the length and breadth of the country playing politics. In life, it can be so near and yet so far. Unfortunately for you, my brother, it has been so near and yet so far,” he said.

 

The Orange Democratic Party Leader lost his presidential bid for the fourth time. However, he declined the results claiming that the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) had rigged the results.

The Azimio party leaders claimed that the IEBC servers were hacked resulting to incorrect vote count. They have made arrangements of challenging the results. The Azimio presidential running mate Marth Karua claimed that after the process, victory will eventually come home.

Meanwhile,President elect William Ruto is being given congratulations by leaders from African countries and overseas.

He is planning on how his government will deliver what it promised to Kenyans. In a press briefing, he said his government will accommodate all Kenyans regardless the tribe.

President elect William Ruto and His Deputy President elect Rigathi Gachagua are waiting for swearing in process if the petition that is about to be filed in court by Azimio.
