A Rwandanese woman who was arrested for indecent dressing and received international limelight has been sentenced to two years in prison.
Mugabekazi Liliane, 24, was arrested and later charged in court for public indecency after wearing a revealing dress to a music concert by a popular French musician named Tayc on August 9, 2022.
She was arrested and later remanded as she waited for a hearing in court.

“She is suspected to have committed public indecency,” Prosecution spokesman, Faustin Nkusi told media after the Mugabekazi was arrested.
People were not happy when they heard that she had been arrested. However, Rwanda’s government officials supported the arrest.
On August 18, a Rwandan Court sentenced Mugabekazi to two years in prison.
