A senior Russian official has allegedly met western diplomats as well as intelligence chiefs in an effort to end the war in Ukraine.
Mail Online reported that a source from Moscow is greatly concerned about the direction that the war in Ukraine is taking. The war led to sanctions which are negatively impacting Russians.
A document which was circulated to Western intelligence agencies stated: ‘A representative of Putin’s inner-circle sent a signal about the desire to negotiate.
The mood of the Kremlin elite is panic.’
The name of the senior Russian official was not revealed. However, there is a likelihood that the official was not sent by Putin. Some documents which were seen by the media reveal that the senior official is a ‘pillar of the regime’ in Russia.
Ukrainian diplomats are not surprised that high level officials in Russian are attempting to bring the war to an end.
