Sharing is Caring

Neil Warnock has today left Championship Club Cardiff City by mutual consent.

Neil Warnock was appointed the Head Coach of the Welsh club in October 2016 and helped the club to secure a promotion to the English Premier League at the end of the 2017/2018 season.

The Club was however relegated back to the Championship after just a season at the top flight of English Football. The Club is now at 14th position in the Championship log after 16 games. They have only managed 5 wins this season.

The club has announced that it is the process of looking for a replacement for Neil Warnock and will make an announcement soon.

Neil Warnock’s future remains unclear. The former Sheffield United manager announced at the beginning of this campaign that this would be his last season in football management.

The Previous campaign was difficult for both Cardiff City and Neil Warnock as they lost Emiliano Sala, their record signing to a plane crash, as the club battled relegation.

“Today I am leaving my beloved Bluebirds after over three years of which have been some of the best days in my long football career. I would especially like to thank Mehmet Dalman whom I have said many times has been one of the best chairman I have had the privilege to work for. His support has been immense, especially in 2019 which for many reasons both on and off the field has been the most challenging period both emotionally and physically that I have ever encountered. It is a shared belief that this is the right time for a new voice as we believe this squad of players is more than capable of getting success’’ Said Warnock.

Cardiff City Chairman Mehmet Dalman thanked Warnock for his enormous contribution to the club.

‘’On behalf of Cardiff City Football Club, I thank Neil for his invaluable contribution to the future of this great Club. He not only gained promotion in his first season but played a pivotal role in uniting the fans and the club. I am personally upset by his departure and wish him the very best for the future.” Said Mehmet Dalman.
