Juventus goalkeeper Mattia Perin has rejoined Genoa on a season-long loan.

The 27-year-old spent the second half of the 2019-20 season with his former club.

A statement on Juventus’ website read: ‘’Mattia Perin will play for Genoa for the 2020/21 season, after joining the Rossoblu on loan.

‘’The temporary acquisition to the right of the sporting services of the goalkeeper by the Genova-based club has been made official.’’

Perin joined Juve from Genoa in 2018 and only made 9 league appearances in his first season in Turin.

He returned to Genoa on loan in January and made 21 appearances for his former side.

Perin, who has been capped twice by Italy, has fallen behind Wojciech Szczesny and Gianluigi Buffon in the pecking order.

The 2020-21 Serie A season is scheduled to start in two weeks time.

Genoa will begin their Serie A campaign at home to Crotone on September 20. Juventus will host Sampdoria on the same day.
