Israel authorities were notified by the neighboring Egypt about the planned attacks by Hamas three days prior.
This claim was made by Representative Michael McCaul from Texas who is the current chairperson of the Foreign Affairs Committee.
“We know that Egypt had warned the Israelis three days prior that an event like this could happen,” McCaul told media.
“We know that this had been planned perhaps as long as a year ago,” he added.
Israel Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu has denied claims that he was aware of the planned attacks. Other sources indicate that the info may have been passed along but never reached his desk because it was not detailed.
At least 22 American have been killed and 17 are still missing in Israel. According to White House, the figure would be higher.
