Sharing is Caring

Yesterday, 17th November, 2014 President Uhuru Kenyan asked the United Nations to offer Africans seats at the UN Security Council. He was speaking at Kempinsky Hotel in Nairobi.

“The body is antiquated and ill-adapted to fulfill its tasks. Some regions of the world do not have representation on the council,”  said president Uhuru Kenyatta.

Currently, the UN Security Council is comprised of 5 members: Russia, France, China, UK and USA. There are also 10 non-permanent members who are elected during the General Assembly. Africa is being represented by Chad, Rwanda and Nigeria.
