1 Prof. Mariara Jane Wanjiku
  She holds a BA, MA and PhD in Economics from University of Nairobi. She is the director of the School of Economics, UON.
Jane is interested in poverty and income distribution issues, child poverty, impact of climate change on agriculture and she is a very competent research with African Research Consortium (AERC). In the past, she has won many research grants from local and international organizations. She has worked as a consultant with World Bank, AERC, IDRC, and Partnership for Economic Policy (PEP).
Prof. Jane was a visiting Fellow at IMF in Washington DC, World Bank, Laval University (Canada), Cornell University and the International Centre for Theoretical Physics (Italy).
She is extensively experienced in university teaching and administration having worked in those capacities for the past more than two decades. In that capacity, she has helped supervise both Masters and doctorate students.
She became an associate professor in December, 2011. She has been a Director, School of Economics since 18th December, 2010. She is a member of UON Senate, Deans Committee, College Academic Board (CHSS), and College Management Board (CMB). Nationally, she is a board member at KNBS and a National Coordinator Poverty Analysis and Data Initiative (PADI) 2004-2006.
Other appointments
She was appointed as a Member, German Institute of Global and Area Studies (GIGA) Advisory Board 2014-2016. She is also a member of Intergovernmental Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystems Services (IPBES).
She is an external Examiner for Kenyatta University, Catholic University and examines PhD and MA theses at University of Pretoria (2005, 2011).

2.Professor Francis Mwaura Mwega
Professor Mwega is a Kenya academic economist teaching at University of Nairobi’s School of Economics.
Education
He was awarded a doctorate in Economics from University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign in USA in 1985. He received his M.A. Economics in 1980 from UON. In 1978 he received a First Class in B.A. degree.
As from 2011, he became a full professor in Economics. Between 2007 and 2010, he was the Director School of Economics at UON.
He teaches Public Finance and Economic Theory to both graduate and undergraduate students since 1985. He is a consultant Deputy Director of Research at AERC. Currently, he is a Resource Person in AERC biannual workshops. He is also a member of the Central Bank of Kenya MPAC.
At one time he was a member of the board at the Kenya Highways National Authority and the Kenya Institute of Public Policy Research and Analysis (KIPPRA). 
3.Professor Peter Kioko Kimuyu
Peter is a Kenyan Economist specializing n Energy Economics. He is a holder of two Masters Degrees. One from UON and a MSc. Energy Economics from University of Surrey in England. He earned a PhD in Energy Economics from University of Nairobi in 1988.
He has held various positions in a number of organizations.

5. Professor Martin Etyang
He is a professor of Economics at Kenyatta University. He has been teaching for over three decades now. He was awarded a PhD in Economics from Pardue University in United States. He earned an undergraduate and Master’s degree in Economics from University of Nairobi.
He is a skilled economist in many areas.
In the past, he has attended numerous workshops and conferences locally and at the international level. He is credited with three economics text books and numerous articles in referred journals.
Professor Patience Mshenga
6.      Dr. David Ndii
He is the founder and Managing director of Africa Economics. He is one of the most influential independent economist in East Africa. He is highly experienced in areas of economic policy having worked as Economic Advisor to the Rwanda government, he also worked as a public finance expert to the Kenya constitutional review committee of Experts (COE). He advised the Kibaki government on Economic Recovery Strategy (ERS).
He is a consultant for international development organizations and is a strategy advisor to the local leading organizations. He is a co-founder of the Institute of Economic Affairs which is a leading policy think thank.
He contributes in the local media on matters of economic development and issues on governance. This is why he is considered a popular public speaker in Kenya.
Dr. Ndii earned a Masters and PhD Degrees from University of Oxford. Before that he studied for his undergraduate and Master’s in the University of Nairobi in Kenya.
7. Dr. S. Wagura Ndiritu
He is a faculty at Strathmore Business School. He has a doctorate degree in Economics from University of Gothenburg, Sweden. He worked in project Management, post-harvest and agribusiness at Galilee International Management Institute, Israel.
