World Economic Forum

World Economic Forum has just started in Davos, Switzerland. This is the biggest global meeting that brings together global political and business leaders. The meeting was opened at 6:15 PM Swiss local time by the World Economic Forum (WEF) founder Klaus Schwab.

Actor Forest Whitaker who was the main actor in The Last King of Scotland received the Crystal Award at the World Economic Forum for his humanitarian work through his foundation.

Shakira, the Colombian singer and performer is helping educate children in the remotest areas of Colombia. In her home country there are over 250 million children who are trapped in poverty (an equivalent of the USA population). These children are prone to join the guerrillas but she is helping them join universities instead.

The World Economic Forum meeting at Davos will discuss a wide array of topics ranging from Brexit, populism, Donald Trump, Artificial Intelligence as well as climate change among many other topics of interest.

Already, Oxfam has set the best by revealing that the world’s top 8 billionaires owns as much as 50% of the world’s poorest population. This is a widening inequality gap.

About Klaus Schwab – Founder of World Economic Forum (1971)

Klaus Schwab is a German economist and engineer who founded the World Economic Forum. He was born in 30th March, 1938 in Germany.

Klaus is an Alma mater of University of Fribourg where he graduated with a doctorate in economics (summa cum laude). He also graduated with a doctorate in engineering from ETH Zurich and a Masters in Public Administration from the renown John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.

Klaus and his wife founded the Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship with its headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland.
