Sharing is Caring

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has ordered teachers back to school from Monday, September, 28 in preparation for eventual re-opening.

Dr. Macharia was speaking at the press conference led by Education CS George Magoha at the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD) headquarters in Nairobi.

“We ask our teachers to report to school on Monday, September 28 to prepare for the eventual opening of schools, so our teachers can report any day between now and Monday and start preparing schools,” said Macharia.

COVID-19 Education Response committee led by Dr. Sarah Ruto recommends that schools reopen next month.

Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha said the recommendations will be tabled before a larger committee for deliberations after which, reopening dates will be communicated.

“It is not for me to give the date for the re-opening, I will table this report before a larger committee for a deliberation on the actual date for the resumption of schooling,” Prof. Magoha said.
