TP mazembe have been declared champions of Vodacom Ligue 1 after the league was unable to continue due to the coronavirus pandemic.
DR Congo’s football federation, Fecofa, confirmed the decision following a meeting on Wednesday.
TP Mazembe were on top of the league table when the season was suspended. AS Vita Club have been named as runners-up.
TP Mazembe and AS Vita club will represent DR Congo in the next season’s Champions league with AS Maniema going into the Caf Confederation Cup.
A number of African countries including Angola, Congo Brazaville, Kenya, Cameroon, Mauritius, Ethiopia, Liberia and Niger have ended their football season due to the global coronavirus pandemic.
TP Mazembe have been crowned Vodacom Ligue 1 champions for a record 18th time after The Congolese Association Football Federation (FECOFA) cancelled the 2019/20 season.
