Somalia has officially joined East African Community as the 8th partner state.
The Somalia’s instruments of ratification of the Treaty of Accession were deposited at the EAC headquarters in Arusha, Tanzania.
Jibri Abdirashid Haji Abdi, the Somalia Minister of Commerce and Industry presented Somalia’s ratification instrument to the EAC Secretary General Peter Mathuki.
Now Somalia is recognized as a full member of East African Community.
Somalia has the longest coastline in Africa which is 3,000 kms. It links Africa to the Arabian Peninsula.
