Sharing is Caring

Rangers have confirmed the signing of midfielder Ianis Hagi on a permanent deal from Genk.

The 21-year-old has been on loan at Rangers. He has made 10 appearances for Romania national team.

He featured in three Europa League games during his loan spell at Ibrox and is remembered for scoring twice in a 3-2 victory over Braga in February.

Hagi, son of former Barcelona and Real Madrid player Gheorghe Hagi, has signed a ‘’long-term’’ contract at Rangers.

The club did not disclose his transfer fee.

‘’My priority was always to return to Glasgow and play for Rangers,’’ Said Hagi.

‘’I am excited about rejoining the squad for pre-season and putting on the famous shirt once again.’’ He added.

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard welcomed Hagi’s signing: ‘’I was able to develop a relationship with Ianis very quickly, he is a pleasure to coach as he is willing to learn and become better every training session.

‘’He has already experienced the pressure and expectation of Ibrox, I know he is ready for next season.’’
