Dr Chitalu Chilufya, Zambia’s health minister, has tested positive for Covid-19. He becomes the second minister in Zambia to test positive.

Information minister Dora Siliya confirmed last weekend that she had tested positive. She went public with her test results as a way of fighting the stigma associated with the virus.
The World Health organization Africa representative Matshidiso Moeti thanked Dora Siliya for being open with her test results and wished her a quick recovery.

The health minister’s results were announced during a press briefing updating the nation on the latest coronavirus figures.
Confirmed coronavirus cases in Zambia have surpassed 1000 mark.
Zambia has recorded 137 new coronavirus cases in the last 5 days, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 1,057.
7 deaths are connected with the virus.
