On 14 October, 2021 U.S. President Joe Biden hosted His Excellency President Uhuru Kenyatta at the White House in Washington DC. 

 

President Uhuru Kenyatta was on an official visit in the United States of America. He effectively became the first head of state to be hosted by President Joe Biden since ascending to power on 20 January, 2021. 

 

The meeting between the two presidents was to strengthen the U.S.-Kenyan partnership. 

 

 

According to the White House, the two leaders discussed “their shared commitment to defending democracy and human rights, advancing regional peace and security, and accelerating economic prosperity through climate smart solutions and the use of renewable energy resources.”

 

After the meeting President Joe Biden announced the donation of over 17 million doses of Johnson & Johnson vaccine to the AU.

 

 

And; 

“Together, President Biden and President Kenyatta underscored the need to bring additional transparency and accountability to domestic and international financial systems and to advance peaceful resolutions to the conflicts in Somalia and Ethiopia,” read in part the statement on White House website.
