Sharing is Caring

Nigeria forward Odion Ighalo was happy to take pay cut and join Manchester United on transfer deadline day.

Ighalo joined the Red Devils on loan from Chinese club Shangai Shenhua until the end of season on Friday, making a return to the English top-flight where he spent a previous stint with Watford FC.

Although Manchester United’s interest in Ighalo came late, he insists he had no hesitation in temporarily ending a lucrative spell in China to join a club that he has always admired.

‘’From 11PM there was paperwork, negotiating and all that, for the loan deal, so we are talking and the other teams are calling them, wanting me. But I told my agent this is what I want. I want to come here.’’

He said:’You are going to get a pay cut to go to United.‘ I said:’I don’t care. Make this deal happen. I want to go to United. I don’t care how much is the pay-cut, I know that, make it happen.’”

Ighalo could lead the Manchester United attack line following injury to Marcus Rashford.

He added:’’I’m very happy. It’s just like a dream come true for me.’’

The Red Devils will face Chelsea in their next Premier League game on February 17th. The Red Devils sit 7th in the league table, 6 points behind fourth-placed Chelsea.
