Manchester United youngster Mason Greenwood has penned a new long term contract with the club.

The 18 year old striker has signed a new four year deal with an option to extend the contract with a further year.

Mason Greenwood made his Premier League debut in March against league rivals Arsenal under manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, a match that Manchester United lost 2-0. His first start in the came two months later.

He has become a regular first team player this season making six substitute appearances in the league and starting three times in the cup competitions.

He scored the only goal in Manchester United’s Europa League match against Astana at Old Trafford on September 19th. He also scored again in the EFL Cup draw against Rochdale, with the Red Devils ultimately progressing to the next round through penalties.

I know that when I play for the club, I represent the whole academy and I want to repay the faith that my coaches have shown in me with my performances on the pitch. I am learning all the time from the manager and his coaching staff and I know that this is the perfect club to help me reach my potential.’’ Said Greenwood after signing the contract.

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was delighted to see Greenwood sign a new contract.

Mason Greenwood becomes the second Manchester United academy graduate to sign a new contract this week at the club after Full-back Brandon Williams; who started against AZ Alkmaar in the Europa League signed a new three year deal on Thursday.
