Manchester City sign Joao Cancelo from Juventus

Manchester City have confirmed the signing of Joao Cancelo from Juventus Turin in a deal that saw Danilo move the opposite direction.

The Portuguese right back is one of the defenders who can create threat to any opponent from the right hand side. Joao Cancelo can also play as a left back. He was part of the Portugal squad that won that Nations League in June 2019. He has made 14 appearances for the Portugal national team.

‘‘Im ready to test myself in the Premier League. I’m always looking to develop my game and win trophies and I believe I can do that here.’’ Said Cancelo after completing the move to City.

Joao Cancelo becomes Manchester City’s third summer signing after the arrivals of Rodri from Atletico Madrid and Angelino from PSV Eindhoven.

Joao Cancelo is expected to face competition from Kyle walker at the Etihad Stadium. He will wear number 27 shirt previously won by Patrick Roberts.
