Sharing is Caring

George Magoha, the Education Cabinet Secretary, has moved the school re-opening date from 11th to 15th of August. This was propelled by vote tallying process that is slower than expected.

“On 1st August 2022, I ordered the early closure of all Basic Education Institutions to allow for adequate preparation and conduct of the General Elections. We indicated that reopening would be on the 11th of August 2022,” Magoha said in a statement.

“We have however been informed that the process of tallying of ballots may still be ongoing on the aforementioned date. Therefore, following further consultations, I hereby convey the Government’s decision that Basic Education Institutions will re-open from Monday, 15th August, 2022,” he further added.

Magoha apologized for any inconvenience caused by the move. This was after parents showed their disappointment.
