Inter Milan resumed their Serie A season with a 2-1 win over Sampdoria on Sunday.

Romelu Lukaku scored his 18th league goal of the season. The Belgian forward struck from 10 yards in the 10th minute and celebrated the goal by taking a knee in support of the Black Lives Matter movement.

Lautaro Martinez made it 2-0 in the 33rd minute by converting Romelu Lukakau’s cross. Inter headed into halftime with a 2-0 lead. Morten Thorsby pulled one back for the visitors from close range earlier in the second half.

The win means Inter are now 3rd in the Serie A table, 6 points behind league leaders Juventus with 12 rounds of games remaining.

The Italian Serie A resumed this weekend after a three-month interruption caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
