Guinea’s president Alpha Condé has announced relaxing of some Covid-19 restrictions imposed to curb the spread of the deadly virus, the BBC reports.

In an address to the nation on Monday President Condé confirmed that places of worship will reopen on June 28 in places where cases have not been reported.

The students who are to sit for examinations and those in universities will resume classes on June 29.

Students will be required to wear face masks and maintain social distance in their classes.

Wearing of face masks is mandatory in the West African country and nighttime curfew from 2300 hours to 0400 hours local time is still being enforced.

A total of 4,572 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Guinea with the virus claiming 26 lives.
