Sharing is Caring

This rainy season has seen farms flooding in Kiambogo every afternoon for the past one week.

The area which is low-lying is negatively impacted by heavy down pour up the mountain.

The floods are negatively affecting farms down hill because they wont be able to harvest any beans this year.

Farming is a weather dependent economic activity in Kenya and can lead to heavy losses.

Many people I spoke with indicated that Kiambogo area can be very dry most months of the year but when it rains, it pours and no one is doing serious rainwater harvesting.

Kiambogo is a land of contrast. During the rainy season it can very green and during dry season it can be very dry and dusty!
