Sharing is Caring

It is 30 March 2019 and it is still hot as usual. It has not rained as expected. During the usual times before the climate change menace took over our weather and climate, we would be preparing to weed our maize and beans. Now here we are waiting for rain and our people dying of hunger in Baringo and Turkana.

It is a shame that we still depend on rain fed agriculture years after the TNA administration promised to put 1 million acres of land under irrigation. The Galana-Kulalu irrigation scheme became a disappointment.
I believe proper feasibility study was not conducted. Otherwise how can you explain the fact that the River upon which they banked their hope would only support 20,000 acres under irrigation.

This should not be allowed to happen again under our watch.
