Sharing is Caring

Borussia Dortmund and Hertha Berlin took a knee in protest at racial injustice and police brutality prior to their Bundesliga clash on Saturday.

The death of George Floyd in police custody in Minneapolis, Minnesota has led to protests in the cities across US and across the world.

In warming up the game with Hertha BSC, Dortmund wore shirts with messages calling for justice.

Moments before kick-off at Signal Iduna Park, both teams took a knee around the centre of the circle, with respective coaching teams doing so in the dugouts.

The actions of Dortmund and Hertha follow Bayern Munich wearing black armbands reading ‘’black lives matter’’ against Bayer Leverkusen, who also wore black armbands in a 4-2 home defeat.

Saturday’s Bundesliga results

Bayer Leverkusen 2-4 FC Bayern Munchen

Eintracht Frankfurt 0-2 Mainz 05

Fortuna Dusseldorf 2-2 Hoffenheim

RB Leipzig 1-1 SC Paderborn

Borussia Dortmund 1-0 Hertha BSC

Sunday’s fixtures

Werder Bremen v Wolfsburg

Union Berlin v Schalke 04

Augsburg v FC Koln
