Oath ceremonies for president elects has been held in Kenya every time a president is elected or re-elected. More especially after presidential elections. These events cost the taxpayers tons of money. A report has been released on the cost of Uhuru Kenyatta Oath Ceremony. Find the report below: 

 

An official report presented to parliament has revealed that Sh352.1 million was spent during the inauguration ceremony of President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy President William Ruto. Out of the Sh352.1 million ,Sh. 146.3 million catered for security, logistics and protocol, Sh.98.9 million catered for foreign affairs, Sh. 46 million for lunch at the State House, Sh. 45.9 for media and communication and Sh. 15 million for entertainment. The committee spent Sh. 32 million less than what the Interior Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho had indicated at Sh. 384 million.
