Sharing is Caring

Italian PM Giuseppe Conte offered a hopeful message on Wednesday as the country moved to ease travel restrictions, the BBC reports.

The country moved to its final phase of relaxing coronavirus lockdown restrictions.

‘’We deserve to smile, to be cheerful, after weeks of great sacrifice,’’ Said Conte on Wednesday.

He added that it was time for the country to enact economic reforms.

Almost 234,000 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Italy with the virus claiming more than 33,000 lives.

Italy is the third most hit country by the coronavirus pandemic. US and UK have recorded higher death tolls.

Italy has now opened its international borders and inter-regional travel (domestic travel) is now permitted.

Conte urged the people to continue wearing masks and maintaining social distance.

Cafes, restaurants and shops have already reopened. Tourist sites have also began welcoming tourists.

Elsewhere in Europe, Austria will reopen its borders to all its neighbours on Thursday, with the sole exception of Italy.
