Amalgamations family has a net worth of $2.8 billion. The family is well known for their manufacture of tractors known as TAFE as well as diesel engines under Simpson & Co.

 

The group has been in business for over 84 years and was established by the late S. Anantharamakrishnan. The group he founded is made up of 47 companies and his son is the current chairman.

 

Mallika Srinivasan, niece to chairman, graduated from Wharton. She chairs TAFE which is the third largest tractor maker volumewise.

 

TAFE has operations in the United States of America partnering with AGCO in a joint venture.

 

Amalgamations Group has its headquarters in Chennai. They have interests in plantations, auto industry, trading and distributions and tractors.

 

The family owns 50 factories in five main places such as Chennai, Hosur, Coimbatore, Bengalura, Alwar, Mandideep and Utragand.

 

The group owns three plantations such as United Nilgiri Tea Estates Ltd, Stanes Amalgamated Estates Ltd and Southern Tea Farms Ltd.

 

The family group of companies produced, traded and distributed the following products: farm equipment, batteries, pistons, engine bearings, pins, washers, cutting tools, castings, transmission components, fertilizers, automotive spare parts, fuel injection systems, engineering plastics, fuel injection  systems, piston pumps, heavy forgings, water pumps, oil pumps, screws, nuts, bolts and fasteners among others.

 

Amalgamations family owned vehicle franchise operations and service companies such as Advertising Companies, Associated Printers Ltd and Associated Publishers Limited.
