Harry Triguboff is one of the richest persons in Australia. He was born in China to Russian parents on 3rd March, 1933. He has a net worth of $15.5 billion.

 

He is the founder of Menton – builder, manager and owner of over 4,000 apartments (build-to-rent) and manages another 4,000 apartments for investors.

 

In Sydney they have nicknamed him “High Rise Harry”. This is because of his many highrise apartments in Australia.

He prefers to do things with speed. That is why he loves the phrase “speed like a meteor”.

 

Harry arrived in Australia for the first time in 1948 and studied at Scots College in Sydney before proceeding to Leeds University in England from where he graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree in Textile Engineering.

After graduation he worked albeit briefly in Israel and South Africa before returning to Australia in 1960.

 

His first business was a fleet of taxis and milk run. He was working as a taxi driver at that time before he switched to real estate.

Harry Triguboff has been constructing 1,000 apartments every year since 1963. Since its establishment the company has built over 55,000 residential properties. His advise is that if you want to succeed in property development, always get good workers and never take a partner because the financial institution is automatically your partner.

 

World Tower

He owns World Tower which is Sydney’s tallest residential apartment building. The building is owned by Meriton Group. It was Australia tallest residential building from 2004 to 2006. The building has 75 above ground levels and 10 levels below the ground. It is served by 15 lifts and has 701 residential units.

Harry spends a lot of time doing site visits (4 days a week). He is always at the office from 10:30 am. On weekends he studies summaries of his business and on Sundays, he speaks to sales persons.

Harry donates a lot of money to political parties and uses his position of power to lobby for policy changes.

 

He owns a large collection of cars which includes Bentleys and Mercedes Limos.
