The African Union commission has announced that they will dispatch a team of 90 elections observers to Nigeria in the wake of the upcoming elections.

 

Nigeria will go to the polls on Feb 25 but it is in a crisis as the elections approach. There is both cash and fuel shortage.

 

Former President of Kenya, Uhuru Kenyatta, is heading the team of African Union Election Observation Mission (AUEOM).

 

On Tuesday, the AU stated that their mission is to produce an accurate and impartial assessment of Nigerian electoral processes. They will also make recommendations aimed at improving future elections in Nigeria. Finally, they will also demonstrate  support from African Union.
