FIDEL CASTRO’S DEATH TRIGGERED MIXED REACTIONS

Fidel Castro died and now Lian Neeson is the talk in town.

There is social media frenzy about the resemblance of the two individuals. Sample this:

Obama and Trump React Differ on Fidel Castro’s Death

These two statements received the anger of the social media users. President Obama offered his condolences to the people of Cuba and extended to them a “hand of friendship.” The Republicans reacted by claiming that he was too soft on Cuba.

Here is what they said:

“President Obama issued a pathetic statement on death of dictator #FidelCastro with no mention of thousands he killed & imprisoned. #Cuba”

– Senator Marco Rubio, Florida

“Failing to mention that millions have suffered because of Fidel Castro is a tragedy.”

– Jeb Bush

On the other hand, President elect Donald Trump took the opposite direction.

He released the news on his twitter handle and the n released a detailed statement afterwards.

“A brutal dictator who oppressed his own people for nearly six decades.”

–Donald Trump

Many people reacted on the differing statements from the president elect and the current president. One twitter user said that Trump has a lot to learn before he resumes the Oval Office.

On the same note, Justin Trudeau – the Canadian Prime Minister- caused a stir after he issued a statement on Fidel Castro. He said that he was filled with ‘deep sorrow’ on learning about Fidel Castro’s death. He went on and mentioned that Fidel was “a larger than life leader” as well as a “legendary revolutionary and orator.”

Justin Trudeau’s family has ties with the Fidel Castro for decades. Fidel Castro acted as the honorary pall bear at the funeral of Justin Trudeau’s father in 2000.
