Jose Mourinho has confirmed that Victor Wanyama has not earned playing time due to fitness issues.

The Portuguese tactician was recently appointed after the dismissal of Mauricio Pochettinho. He has managed 3 matches, and Victor Wanyama hasn’t featured any of them.

“He (Victor) is fine and has no problems at all. But one thing is to be fit and another is to be match fit, match intensity, and match pace,” Mourinho told Football London.

“He is a good player and needs to play. But at this moment I’m just coming to the team and trying to organize how we play,” Mourinho explained.

Tottenham Hotspurs are placed fifth in the English Premier League table with 18 points after 14 matches.

Mourinho’s Spurs face Manchester United, a club that sacked him 351 days ago.
