The Minister of Internal Security, Fred Matiangi, has asked who he is supposed to meet if not the chiefs. Matiangi was condemned by political leaders against meeting with the village elders.
The political leaders claimed that considering the upcoming general elections, the Interior Cabinet Secretary might be buying the chiefs.
The CS challenged them stopping him from meeting the chiefs is like stopping the CS of health from meeting doctors or CS for education from meeting teachers.
Matiangi added that meeting with the chiefs will enable him know the challenges the residents are facing from the grass roots and address them appropriately.
He also added that this will ensure enough and assured security following the upcoming elections.
