The late Stephen Mutai M’Imanyara was at one point one of the richest people in Meru County.
He owned 1,000 acres of land which he put under tea production under the name Majani Gardens Ltd and Giciaro Farm Limited.
He owned properties in Meru, Mombasa, Ngong, Isiolo and Nairobi. He was an inspiration for many businessmen in Kenya. For example, he owned Kotnis building which houses Farmers Center. He was also the owner of Imenti House located along Tom Mboya Street in Nairobi through Kathera Holdings Ltd.
He was chairman of Imenti Tea Factory and KTDA. He died in January 2018.
Stephen was one of the founders of Cooperative Bank of Kenya.
Stephen also owned a tea brokerage firm known as Centreline limited located in Mombasa.
Stephen Mutai M’Imanyara served as chairman of Kenya Tea Development Authority (KTDA) as well as Imenti Tea Factory.
