Cabinet Secretary Machogu has indicated that the state has made available Ksh. 10 million for refurbishment of dormitories and replacement of asbestos roof with ironsheets at Mukumu Girls. 

 

Further, all the water tanks at Mukumu girls have been cleaned and fitted with brand new taps. Filled with clean water and the water pipes have been redesigned to prevent leakages. 

 

The water in the school is being tested regularly by KEMRI and Lake Victoria North Water works Development Agency. 

 

At least 1,962 students are alleged to have reported back to school.
