Shapoor Mistry controls Shapoorji Pallonji Group (15 Companies) which has engineering and construction businesses. The group has interests in textiles, shipping, construction, real estate, home appliances, publications, biotechnology, power and shipping. He shares his wealth with the family of his late brother Cyrus Mistry who died in a road accident.
The family’s biggest asset is an 18.4% shares in Tata Sons. His father the construction tycoon, Pallonji Mistry, died on June 2022. He was known as the “Phantom of Bombay”. His younger brother Cyrus Mistry died three months later in a road accident at age 54.
Shapoor Mistry has a net worth of $14 billion. The group’s real estate arm has built some of the most iconic buildings such as The Imperial (Mumbai) and Jumeirah Lake Towers in Dubai.
Shapoorji Pallonji Group constructed Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai, Bank of India, Reserve Bank of India (1939), Taj Mahal Palace Tower Wing (1970), Mafatlal Center (1970), DLF IT Park, Jammu Udhampur Highway (2014) and QASR Al Alam Palace in Oman (1975).
