When I visit a new town, I use local contacts to learn about popular eateries around the place. I mean where ordinary citizens congregate for hot and delicious meals. Hotel ya mwanainchi.
I know there are big hotels out there in all towns, however, there are some small eateries which the local forks prefer patronizing.
The small hotels and restaurants are loved because they are affordable, they have friendly staff members and reliable sources tell me that the food served in those small hotels is delicious.
When I went to Seasons Hotel and Fast Foods in Lodwar, the eating area was packed to the brim with locals and those visiting the town but have connections. There were even students inside with their school buses parked outside. At the entrance, there were parked over 50 motorbikes aka boda bodas. This was a testament that the hotel was for the masses and I was sure that the food would be fresh.
I ordered managu (shuchaa) and ugali. It was the best managu that I have eaten for the last several months.
When you visit Lodwar, make sure you eat at the popular Seasons Hotel which is located at the Co-operative Bank Roundabout next to Kabarnet Investments.
