President Bola Tinubu signed a bill establishing a standard retirement age for judicial personnel into law on Tuesday, June 8.


The President promised that his government would strengthen the judiciary and give judicial officials more authority, according to state house director of information Abiodun Oladunjoye.


Judges of the high court and other people now have to retire at age 70 instead of 65, according the law. The appeals court and supreme court justices have already set a retirement age of 70.
