The Premier League has announced plans to launch a new hall of fame to recognize past stars in the competition.

On March 19, the Premier League will reveal the first inductees and the fans will have a chance to vote for their choices.

In a statement, the Premier League ”will recognise and and celebrate the exceptional skill and talent of payers  who have graced the competition since its inception in 1992.” 

”Membership of the Premier League hall of fame will be the highest individual honour awarded by the League to the players.” It added.

Only players who are retired will be eligible for a chance in the hall of fame.

League CEO Richard Masters said: ”Since 1992, the Premier League has been home to World-class players who have defined generations and provided us with compelling football season after season.
