For the last one week I’ve been working from my rural village in Nyamira County.
I take this opportunity to highlight the profiles of aspirants for the office of Member of Parliament in Kitutu Masaba Constituency in order to enlighten voters as they plan to make a choice at the ballot in August 2022.
We shall look at various parameters such as levels of education, political parties they are aligned to, where they come from, religious affiliations, wealth and what they aim to achieve as members of parliament if they get elected.
I remember in 2007 General elections, we has 34 candidates for the seat of MP. That time we had candidates such as Mwancha Okioma, Walter Osebe Nyambati, Nyambega Mose and Timothy Bosire among many others.
We’ll find out how many political candidates we shall have this time round.
As usual Kitutu Masaba will be a crowded field, it seems every sub-location will have have their strongest son stand to be counted and take home the national cake.
The current member of parliament (MP) for Kitutu Masaba is expected to defend his seat on a UDA ticket. He has been active on the UDA arena not through speaking but being seen and paying visits to Sugoi and Karen in organized delegations.
Those who formerly had an interest on MP seat have long shifted into bigger goals. Walter Nyambati is seeking to replace Amos Nyaribo as Governor of Nyamira in 2022 using UDA as the vehicle of choice.
Timothy Bosire, a.k.a riroba, the former MP for Kitutu Masaba has already expressed his interest to wrestle it out with Nyambati and Borabu MP Ben Momanyi among others for the governor seat. Bosire’s vehicle of choice is Orange Democrat Movement (ODM).
