Mike Sonko sworn in as governor alongside his deputy Polycarp Igathe. He is now officially the second governor of Nairobi County. During his speech, he promised that he will transform the City of Nairobi to its past glory.
President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto attended the swearing-in ceremony at Uhuru Park, Nairobi.
Mike Sonko garnered 864,426 votes against 693,329 votes by Dr. Evans Kidero the incumbent.
