Eating Plastic

Currently, there is a lot of plastics (bottles, shopping bags etc) in our oceans. It’s further estimated that by 2020, there will be more plastics than fish in our oceans and seas.

After sometime, these plastics breakdown into small particles. The marine life including fish are unable to differentiate between the plastic particles and other food. They end up consuming plastic. This is a danger for human beings considering that people eat lots of fish.

The Huffington Post estimates that if you eat plenty of shellfish, you may be consuming 11,000 particles of plastic per annum.
