A Sunday service was disrupted today at St John Catholic Church in Kutus, Kirinyaga County. This is after a 26 year old man went suicidal within the church premises.
One of the worshippers raised the alarm alerting other members of the church. Dennis Bundi was found hanging from a tree with a rope tied around his neck.
Mr Michael Gichinga, the chairman of the church, could not determine immediately what led to the man commiting suicide.
In less than a week, this is a third suicide case that has been reported in the area. On Friday, two people were reported to have committed suicide under various reasons.
32 year old Daniel Mwaniki from Ngomongo in Central Kirinyaga hanged himself at his home after a domestic quarrel with his wife.
Still on Friday, Simon Kinyua, 40, hanged himself in Kutus location after his friend was gunned down over robbery in Thika. He is suspected to be a member of a gang that has been involved in many robbery cases in Central Kenya.
