The French Ligue 1 will not resume before June 15th due to coronavirus pandemic according to Ligue 1 president Bernard Caiazzo.

The Ligue one was suspended indefinitely on March 13th due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Caiazzo wants the Ligue one to be completed amid financial impact on teams.

‘’It is necessary to finish the Championship at all costs, even if it means ending it in July-August, and resuming in stride,’’ Said Caiazzo.

‘’Currently, all clubs are losing around €250M a month and we cannot play until the curve is reversed. That is to say in July-August, at best on June 15.’’

Most teams in the League had played 28 matches when the League was suspended.

Paris Saint Germain sit at the top of the League table, 12 points clear.

More than 16,000 coronavirus cases have been reported in France with more than 650 deaths.
