LIBRARY OF CONGRESS TO STOP ARCHIVING ALL PUBLIC TWEETS

The Library of Congress announced that it will not be able to archive every public tweet as it did before. This is because Twitter is planning to expand beyond the 140-character tweets.

This is quite an ambitious project which was launched seven years ago. Twitter has plans to double the character limit from the current 140 to 280. This will be effective from January 2018. This has pushed the Library of Congress to choose which tweets to put into their archives.
