England League 2 club Stevenage FC could make use of available resources to offer help to the elderly during the COVID – 19 pandemic.

Those aged over 70 have been told to stay at home because they are likely to be harshly affected by the virus.

Stevenage is ready to use its resources to help the most vulnerable people in their community. The youngsters will help in distributing the food.

‘’We have always prided ourselves on being a community club and now it’s time to show what that means,’’ Said Stevenage FC Chairman Phil Walllace.

‘’Starting immediately, we will start to work on the logistics of obtaining the details of folks that will need help. We have kitchens we are not using, we have young players that can’t play football and we have an army of youngsters that, if asked and organized properly, would be willing to help distribute meals and obtain supplies.’’ He added.

Stevenage FC sit bottom of the League 2 table, 8 points from safety.
