Islam Slimani has joined Monaco on a season-long loan from Leicester City

Leicester City and Algeria striker Islam Slimani has joined French Ligue one club Monaco on a season long loan.  Monaco have an option to buy the forward at the end of 2019/2020 season.

Islam Slimani joined Leicester City in 2016 from Poruguese Club Sporting Lisbon. He went on to play 46 times for the Premier League Club scoring 13 times.

Islam Slimani has spent loan spells at Newcastle and Fenerbahce since January 2018. He managed to score 25 goals for Fenerbahce last season. He was also part of the Algeria squad that won the African Cup of nations in July 2019.

Islam Slimani becomes the third forward to be signed by Monaco after the club signed Henry Onyekuru from Premier League club Everton and Wissam Ben Yedder from Spanish club Sevilla.

Monaco will be hosting Nimes at the Stade Louis 2 in the French Ligue one match to be played on Sunday 25th August. Islam Slimani could make his debut.
