Sharing is Caring

A chain of events has already slowed down: residents being advised not to venture outside,, doctors posing their daily health programs and railway transport being at risk since the railway lines could buckle due to heat that may cause expansion.

On Monday, a dangerous heat wave was recorded. Meanwhile, the wild fires have raged across Britain with the authorities trying to battle the fires. The heat wave has caused over 1000 deaths country wide and majority left with injuries.

“Red warning” has been issued by the Meteorological office urging residents not to go outside and avoid field exercises or traveling.

The blistering temperature is being caused by the greenhouse gases that are being emitted by humans in day to day activities. The abnormal rise of temperatures have been due to luck of humans to take responsibility to conserve the environment. It has been also due to lack of well laid policies to ensure that the environment is left intact for the coming generations.

Many houses in the UK were built in 1800s and were not designed to withstand such high temperatures and minimize heat penetration since they are not double walled.

Experts predict that hundreds might die during the heat wave if precautions are not take “I’m afraid the excess deaths on Monday and Tuesday have got to be anticipated” in the range of “thousands of deaths,” Sir David King, the British government’s former chief scientist told LBC radio. He said this could be “up to 10,000” deaths.

“Even as a climate scientist who studies this stuff, this is scary,” Professor Hannah Cloke said, a university of reading researcher on natural hazards. “This feels real. At the start of the week I was worried about my goldfish getting too hot. Now I’m worried about the survival of my family and my neighbors.”

In a fight to minimize causalities, the government has advised people to close windows and curtains, cover their windows with in tin foil, put ice by their cooling fans, stay indoors and look out for neighbors. This was published as “Heat wave hacks”.

Flights has also been suspended in London’s Luton Airport after crucial effects on the runway.

“Following today’s high temperatures, a surface defect was identified on the runway,” the airport said in a statement. “Engineers were called immediately to site and repair works are currently in progress to resume operations as soon as possible.”

Also on the other hand The Royal Air Force suspended flights at its Brize Norton base due to the diverse condition.

Drivers of all forms of locomotives have been urged by the government to stay of roads leaving authorities to spill some sand on the asphalt so as to prevent it from melting.

“This is not ‘just summer,’ French senator Mélanie Vogel tweeted. It is “just hell” and will pretty soon become ‘just the end of human life’ if we continue with our climate inaction.”

Elsewhere in Portugal, 650 people died due to wildfires. Also in Greece fire officials said that they have recorded 71 fires in 24.
