The East African Community heads of state officially admitted the Democratic Republic of Congo into the economic block.
This was announced by Uhuru Kenyatta, the current chairperson of the Summit of EAC heads, during the 19th Extra-ordinary Summit of EAC Heads of State.
This news was well received by other East Africans many hoping that they will now travel to destinations in DRC without applying for a visa.
